Itaú in talks to buy Citi’s Brazil unit Brazilian lender Itau Unibanco Holding has secured exclusive rights to negotiate an acquisition of Citigroup Inc’s retail banking operation in Brazil, according to a newspaper report on Wednesday. Itaú outbid Santander in initial offers presented to Citigroup, the report said, Reuters reports.
