The software that knows what you consume by “looking” at your social media pictures The next time a photo is published on a social network like Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, there may be an embedded software watching. And if the photo includes a product of some kind like a beer or a package of cookies, this image-reading software will send the information to the mass consumption product manufacturer. For now the software is used for fast-moving consumer goods, “but in five years our vision is that any global marketing manager will have us on their list of priorities” said Alessandro Prest, founder of software firm Logograb.
