With revenues reaching almost $52 billion in 2017, América Móvil, controlled by Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim, is the king of the technology companies in Latin America by revenues. The figure is 9.8 percent higher than the year before, Latin Trade’s Top 30 Technology ranking shows. But the best performing company in terms of growth was Telefónica, with revenues reaching $29.4 billion in 2017, up 18.4 percent from the year before. The Spanish telco leads the subranking for the companies with the biggest growth percentage for the full year. In second and third place in that list are Mexico’s Cablevisión (+17.2 percent) and Chile’s CTC (+17.1 percent).
