Uruguay, Argentina, and Chile are Latin America’s most plugged in countries, with high rates of mobile, broadband, and PC usage. The Southern Cone nations of Uruguay, Argentina, and Chile take up the top 3 places in Latin Trade Business Intelligence’s latest Technology Index, which measures the region’s connectivity based on the penetration of wireless and fixed line telephony, internet, broadband, and computer usage for each country. The three countries – which are also among the region’s best-off in terms of GDP per capita – far exceed the regional average (20.01), with scores of 30.65 (Uruguay), 28.74 (Argentina), and 27.34 (Chile).
