The index fell 2.1 percent from 3Q11. Nevertheless Bimbo increased its revenue by 40 percent, Cencosud by 30 percent and Femsa by 23 percent. The fastest growing companies relied on their domestic markets and not on international markets.

The scene for Latin American multinationals, Multilatinas, is far from boring this year. On one hand, retailers on this index grew their revenues by 30.1 percent YoY on 3Q12. On the other hand, miners lost 20.8 percent of their revenues over the same period. These are results of the Multilatina Index published by Latin Business Chronicle, which comprises 25 of the most important companies in the region.
