Latin America has been identified as a part of the world where the take-up of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software is particularly strong, as SAP's latest financial results indicate.
The company's revenues in the region are said to have grown at a faster pace than its global figures, reported the Latin Business Chronicle.
Takings from software in 2011 in Latin America grew by 22 per cent compared with the previous year, while across the world SAP recorded expansion of 17 per cent.
Rodolpho Cardenuto, president and chief executive officer at SAP Latin America, said the firm had a "fantastic year in Mexico" and a "fantastic last quarter" in Colombia.
There was also significant growth reported in markets such as Argentina, Peru and Chile.
SAP recently said that its products remained in high demand around the world in 2011 and it outpaced its competitors, despite the difficult economic conditions in many areas.
