Brazil dominates the Latin 500 ranking of Latin America’s top energy companies. Five of the top ten companies are Brazilian, as are 25 of the top 50.
Brazilian state oil giant Petrobras leads the way, thanks to $128 billion in revenues, followed by Mexican state oil company Pemex, with $103.8 billion.
BR Distribuidora and Grupo Ultra from Brazil and Colombian state oil company Ecopetrol round out the top five.
Venezuelan state oil company PDVSA, which is being sanctioned by the US government for its alleged aid to Iran’s nuclear program, was not included due to delays in releasing its audited annual report.
