Previ: Latin America’s Largest Pension Fund

Brazil dominates the ranking of Latin America's 100 top pension funds, with Mexico in a distant second place.

Brazil-based Previ is Latin America’s top pension fund, followed by Chilean funds Provida and Habitat, according to a ranking of Latin America’s Top 100 Pension Funds from Latin Business Chronicle.

 

Previ’s assets of $81.9 billion at the end of 2009 represented an increase of 64.4 percent from a year earlier. Those assets were more than the assets of the second- and third-largest funds combined.

The increase in assets came despite a 0.2 percent drop in affiliates to 85,000.
