Aldrich: Successful Skadden Anniversary

Richard Aldrich celebrates his first year at Skadden with a solid track record and strong outlook.

SAO PAULO Richard Aldrich has had a busy year since joining the São Paulo office of New York-based law firm Skadden Arps a year ago.

“I have never seen this kind of interest,” he tells Latin Business Chronicle. “Even if half of them turn out to be real, I think we are looking for a busy 2010.” Aldrich mentions the example of a client who had left Brazil more than five years ago and is now coming back. 

Aldrich created headlines when he left Shearman & Sterling last year after a 26-year career at the New York-based law firm.

“He is a very well-respected international lawyer,” says Sueli Bonaparte, Executive Director of the Brazilian American Chamber of Commerce in New York, where Aldrich was president from 2005 to 2008.  “He was one of the most active presidents because of his connections with the Brazilian community.”
