Latin Technology Outlook: Recovery, Growth

Latin America will see strong IT growth led by the economic recovery, technology executives predict.

Technology companies operating in
Latin America are optimistic about 2010, with recovery and a return to recent years’ solid growth. “2010 will be good year for the IT sector in the region,” says Rodolpho Cardenuto, president and CEO of Latin America for Germany-based SAP, worlds largest producer of business-management software.


Similar sentiments are expressed by the
Latin America heads of U.S.-based Microsoft, the world’s largest software producer, and U.S.-based Cisco Systems, the worlds largest producer of networking equipment.“As the economic recovery is happening worldwide and in Latin America, companies and governments will need to catch up and invest in technology and infrastructure,” says Jaime Valles, vice president for Cisco Latin America.
