Razorfish Optimistic on Brazil

Strong potential in Latin America, especially Brazil, spurs cautious optimism at digital ad agency Razorfish.


U.S.-based interactive marketing company Razorfish is growing better than it expected in Latin America and seeing relative good growth in Brazil, officials say.

Brazil continues to grow, though at a lower rate [than before],” says Marcelo Marer, vice president of research with the New York City office of Razorfish.  “We’re not sure how things are going to shape up in the 3rd and 4th quarters of 2009 [but] we think things look good. As to other countries, they have bigger challenges.”

Razorfish, which has partners in Argentina and Costa Rica, is actively considering opening offices in the region starting with one this year, he adds.

The crisis is affecting Razorfish, but not as much as it originally anticipated. “It has [affected Razorfish] but to a lesser degree than we had initially expected,” Marer says.
