Eagle of the Americas to Murphy
John Murphy, the vice president of international affairs of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, has received the Eagle of the Americas, the highest award from the Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America and the Caribbean (AACCLA). "We thank you for making AACCLA and our Amchams stronger and more effective," Kathleen Barclay, the former chair of AACCLA, said at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. last week.
Chico Pardo Joins AT&T Board
Jaime Chico Pardo, chairman of Mexico-based Telmex, will join the AT&T's board of directors. He will serve on the firm's board's audit committee.
Yachelini Joins Microsoft
Sandra Yachelini has been appointed general manager for Microsoft in Argentina and Uruguay, the company announced. Previously she headed Southern region operations for German software giant SAP. She has also held leading positions with Siemens, IBM, and EDS.
Gutierrez Joins IDC Canada
Rodolfo Gutierrez has been named VP and General Manager of Latin America for Imaging Dynamics Company of Calgary, Canada, manufacturer of digital X-ray detector systems, according to DotMed. His previous 25 year career includes working for GE.
De Paula Joins ICF
Ericson de Paula has joined US-based ICF International as vice president in charge of managing its ICF Consultoria do Brasil Limitada office. Prior to joining ICF, he operated his own energy consulting firm in Brazil and has a Ph.D. and a Master of Science in Energy from Universidade de São Paulo.
Lopez Heads CipherLab LatAm
Edgar Lopez has been named regional manager for Latin America for CipherLab, it said in a statement. It provided no further information on Lopez.
