Mexico's "Silicon Valley" is boosting office and industrial space, driven in part by new demand from logistics companies.

The real estate market is growing in Guadalajara, Mexicos second-largest city known as the countrys "Silicon Valley."

"After several years of stagnant growth, Guadalajara is currently experiencing an unprecedented boom in office construction," says Renato Carregha of Jones Lang LaSalle in Mexico.

Ricardo Gomez, director of industrial services at CB Richard Ellis in Guadalajara, concurs. "This market has significant growth ...with the construction of corporate buildings previously scarce in the city," he says.

Industrial space is also expanding, thanks to three major parks underway, including one being developed by U.S.-based developer Hines.  Behind the industrial space expansion are logistics companies rather than technology companies, which helped spur previous industrial real estate growth.
