Microsoft Grows in Latin America

Increased demand throughout Latin America helps boost Microsoft's sales.

Hernan Rincon has reason to smile these days. As president of Microsoft Latin America he oversees one of the fastest-growing regions of the world for the software giant. "Last year was our best year in at least 10 years," he says. "That makes us very happy."

Microsoft last week announced that Brazil, China, India and Russia - the so called BRIC countries - boosted sales by 65 percent in the companys second fiscal quarter 2008, which ended December 31.

The company does not break down details on regional revenue or growth, but Rincon says the region grew...
