Mexico, Latin America's second-largest wireless market, is growing the number of subscribers and the size of the market. Telcel remains the undisputed market leader.

MEXICO CITY — Mexicos wireless market bounded head in the third quarter. The number of lines rose by 21.3 percent year-on-year while there was 54.7 percent growth in air time, the regulator Cofetel reported.
Yet Telcels market dominance was scarcely dented. Telcel is the local unit of América Móvil, controlled by Carlos Slim -- the wealthiest entrepreneur in Latin America and, by some accounts, the world.
