Finland-based Nokia, the world's largest wireless phone producer, has started the Latin America launch of its entry-level 1200 and 1208 devices as well as the Nokia 2660, 2505, 2630 and 2760. They will gradually be launched in the second and third quarters with prices ranging from $48 to $123. Nokia especially has high hopes for the 2760, a phone that features a digital camera, Bluetooth technology, video recording, video playback and FM radio.
Meanwhile, US-based InfoSonics Corporation recently started distributing the "verycool" brand of phones in Colombia and Venezuela. The initial shipment included the verycool i200, which comes with a built-in MP3 player, camera, T9 predictive text input, 64 polyphonic ringtones, photo phonebook and T-flash memory. In the United States, it retails for $169.00.
