Bermuda-based Partner Re recently reported financial results for 2006. Net income went from a $51.1 million loss in 2005 to a $749.3 million profit last year. In Latin America the company also noted a good year, although the company declines to give details beyond reporting that net premiums grew from five percent of the company total in 2005 to seven percent last year. Latin Business Chronicle asked Salvatore Orlando, the Zurich-based head of Southern Europe & Latin America for Partner Re Zürich, to break down the growth last year and share his outlook for this year.
