American Airlines says its Latin American routes performed "particularly strong" during the third quarter, according to the
Latin Business Chronicle. While AA's total passenger revenue grew by 5.6% systemwide during the third quarter, the airline's figures in Latin America jumped by 9.6%. Only AA's trans-Pacific routes grew faster, the publication says. Among South American markets, AA cited Buenos Aires, Argentina; Caracas, Venezuela; Santiago, Chile; and Sao Paulo, Brazil, as markets showing strong growth. "All of these are doing very well," AA spokesman Tim Smith says to the
Chronicle.
