Sakura Tech invests in its Latin Future

Singapore’s Sakura Tech has seen the potential of Latin America. It opened its first manufacturing plant in Brazil.
“Latin America’s GDP grew 30 percent over the last three years, and it is expected to grow a further 4.5 percent this year. Governments in both Latin America and Asia are aligned in their desire to further develop our economies, and boost trade. We believe Singapore-based companies can continue to ride on Latin America’s growth potential”, explains Razali Jaafar, Managing Director for Sakura Tech Pte Ltd. Sakura Tech is one of Southeast Asia’s program plastic solutions specialists, with operations in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and China. Established in 1995 it manufactures high-precision components, tool and die fabrication as well as contract manufacturing for the computer peripherals, industrial and consumer electronics, as well as telecommunication equipment industries. Sakura Tech hasn’t hesitated to capitalise on the market and business potential of Latin America. In 2012, Sakura Tech Brasil Ferramentaria e Moldagem Plastica Ltda was inaugurated in São Paulo, expanding the company’s operations to the region. Of this initiative Mr. Jaafar says: “Sakura Tech’s investment in setting up a factory space of 10,000 square meters, with state of the art manufacturing equipment demonstrates our interest in bringing a level of technical competency to Latin America”.
