SAP doubled its cloud business in Latin America in 2016
Claudio Muruzabal, president of SAP Latin America and the Caribbean, the software giant that provides its services to more than 36,000 companies in the region, talks about digital transformation.
What’s lacking in Latin American companies for them to be considered world class in information management?
Claudio Muruzabal: Fortunately, more and more CEOs in the region’s companies are recognizing that access to information for decision-making is one of the great advantages to joining the digital transformation. The result of this is that companies are achieving greater productivity and competitiveness. This transformation demands getting a quicker and more timely response to business challenges, which often leads to adopting cloud-based solutions and technologies with great innovation and impact, such as analytics solutions, the internet of things (IoT) or machine learning.
What effect is this having on SAP’s business?
We see this trend reflected in our own results: for the second consecutive year SAP doubled its cloud business in Latin America in 2016, as well as reporting sustained growth in solutions that play a key role in digital transformation, such as big data, memory computing, analytics, human capital management and storage solutions, to name a few.
