EU trade with Latin America Up

Spain and Italy grow above average.
BY LBC STAFFTrade between the European Union and Latin America grew by 16.3 percent last year to 205.7 billion euro (US$266.2 billion), according to Eurostat, the official statistics agency.  
EU exports to Latin America increased 14.1 percent to 98.97 billion euro, while imports from Latin America expanded by 17.7 percent to 107.8 billion euro.Spain, the third-largest trade partner, grew above the average EU rate. Its trade with Latin America last year increased 23.7 percent to 27.5 billion euros.  Italy, the fourth-largest EU trade partner of Latin America, saw similar strong growth. Its trade with the region grew 23 percent to 25 billion euros.  Spain’s growth was higher than that of Germany and The Netherlands, the top two  EU partners of Latin America. Germany’s trade increased 13.6 percent to 46.8 billion euro, while Dutch trade grew 15.2 percent to 29.8 billion euro.Brazil remains the top Latin America partner of the EU, followed by Mexico. Last year Brazil-EU trade grew 15.1 percent to 73.6 billion euro.  EU exports to Brazil grew by 13.8 percent to 35.7 billion euro, while imports from Brazil increased 16.2 percent to 37.8 billion euro.
Mexico’s trade with the EU reached 40.1 billion euro, a 16.1percent increase.  EU exports to Mexico grew by 11.6 percent to 23.8 billion euro, while imports from Mexico increased 23.4 percent to 16.3 billion euro.EU trade with Argentina, its third-largest …
